Accessing Healthcare

I will start by saying I am writing this with the hope that someday, improvements can be made to accessing healthcare in my region, and not just to complain. On June 22nd, 2023, I called my local Healthcare center in Doaktown, NB to book an appointment to see my assigned nurse practitioner for an ear infection and get treatment. I was told that there were no appointments available this week or next week but I should see a doctor for this problem. I had a doctor in Doaktown for about a year, his entire tenure there, but then he just recently offboarded all his patients in Doaktown to take over a retiring doctors patients in nearby Boiestown. I would have gladly travelled there but he won't see us anymore. I was told to try Maple but they want to charge 69.99 per call. I am a senior on fixed income and can't afford this. So, no in person or telephone appointments for me. So, I am left with travelling to Minto.
