Thank you for contributing to Let's Talk Horizon! Consultation has concluded.

Did you know health services only account for 10 per cent of health outcomes? Ninety per cent of our population health outcomes are because of our behaviours, social and economic factors, and the physical environment.
The factors listed below play a significant role in determining one’s health:
- Education/literacy rates
- Neighbourhood/condition of dwelling
- Food security
- Transportation (access to services)
New Brunswick Health Trends
- New Brunswickers compare poorly to the rest of Canada’s population with respect to lifestyle habits (as demonstrated by rates of obesity, alcohol consumption, smoking, and physical activity) and overall health outcomes.
- Two out of three New Brunswickers have at least one chronic health condition (62 per cent) and one out of five have three or more (20 per cent).
- High blood pressure, arthritis, gastric reflux, and depression are the most common chronic health conditions.
Horizon’s Mission is Helping People be Healthy, but it’s something that all New Brunswickers can play a part in. We look forward to you sharing your ideas for a healthier New Brunswick below.
