Deplorable Care Year after Year
3 years ago when, unbeknownst to us, our mother had a terminal condition (that's another story), and she went into crisis at home. Not only did we have to force the EMTs to transport her to the Perth-Andover facility, when she arrived she was treated with resentment and derision over why she was even there. 3 weeks later she died.
Jump ahead to 4 weeks ago, We thought my dad was having a stroke (turned out to be a TIA). My brother-in-law took him to Emergency in Perth-Andover and drove up to the doors. They pointed him (BIL) to a wheelchair and told him that if he couldn't get my dad through the doors that he would have to call an ambulance. Once my BIL got my dad inside, they gave him a NUMBER and told him to go take a SEAT. Finally, a nurse showed up, noticed him, and ushered him to triage. He was then hospitalized for 5 days. Oh, small complication, he has terminal cancer and a serious heart condition. Imagine, a person presenting with stroke symptoms and that is how he was received. Absolutely abysmal.
