Horizon's Executive Leadership Team has heard from our staff and physicians that finding reliable daycare options for health care workers is a challenge, particularly in the Fredericton and Saint John areas.
In early 2022, Horizon completed a two-week survey about the possibility of creating a daycare program either onsite or near the Saint John Regional Hospital and the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton.
The purpose of this engagement was to gain a better understanding of the specific needs and level of interest in having a daycare close to, or onsite at Horizon facilities. Those engagement findings can be viewed here (or on the right of the page, under Keeping you up to date).
Today, we are in the planning stages of this exciting project, to expand childcare options to Horizon’s health care workers. In order to properly plan for this project and appropriately meet the needs, we are seeking your help to better understand how many children and what age groups would be potentially using this program.
Please note, the daycare program would not be funded by Horizon, and parents and guardians are responsible for childcare fees.
