Thank you for contributing to Let's Talk Horizon! Consultation has concluded.
In New Brunswick, the provincial government delegates the delivery of health care services to the regional health authorities. Horizon Health Network is one of two regional health authorities and provides services in areas of the province where the spoken language is predominantly English. Vitalité Health Network is the second regional health authority and provides services in areas that are predominantly French speaking. However, both health authorities provide services to their patients and clients in the language of their choice, whether it be English or French.
Horizon operates 12 hospitals and more than 100 medical facilities and clinics across New Brunswick and administers eight provincial programs. We provide a variety of services ranging from specialized hospital care to community-based health services to the residents of New Brunswick, as well as northern Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
Did you know?
Horizon is one of the largest employers in New Brunswick with approximately 12,600 staff, 1,100 physicians, 350 medical residents, and 4,500 volunteers.
Horizon’s annual budget exceeds $1.1 billion.
In 2014, Horizon completed a strategic plan based on extensive consultation with our staff and the public, which outlined key priorities for the organization to focus on for the next five years. In 2018, an updated addendum was released to better align the priorities with government direction.
This winter we are consulting on a plan that will guide Horizon for the next three years, and we hope you provide your feedback using the engagement tools in any of the sections outlined on this page.
