Consultation has concluded
Self-Healing Communities has partnered with the Department of Social Development to offer this innovative training to Foster Parents and Families within New Brunswick. We believe the work you do is important and want to support you. This training will share tools and resources to help you in supporting children who may have experienced Adverse Childhood Events, as well as supporting your own wellness and resiliency.
The Self-Healing Communities Model (SHCM) has demonstrated success in improving rates of many interrelated and intergenerational health and social problems by investing in the people most at risk and reducing and preventing the root cause of these problems: Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). The SHCM builds the capacity of communities to intentionally generate new cultural norms and thereby improve health, safety and productivity for current and future generations.
Saint John is the first community in Canada to implement the Self-Healing Communities Model, guided, mentored and trained by world leaders. Thirty individuals from various government and community agencies have participated in the ACE Interface Train -the-Master Trainer program.
We thank you in advance for your support in completing the following questionnaire, in efforts to better understand your needs as foster families. It is important that the training is designed to meet your specific needs, and by sharing your expertise with us, we can provide training that is supportive to the important work that you do.
These questions should take no more than 20 minutes to complete. All results will be collected by Horizon Health Network. No personal information or identifying information will be shared with the Department of Social Development, and your individual responses are confidential.
If you have any questions about the confidentiality of your responses, or for other questions relating to the survey or training, please contact Brittany.stein@horizonnb.ca.
At the end of the survey there is an opportunity to win a prize as a token of our appreciation for completing the survey.
Thank you!
